ハウス・オブ・ジャックスとは

矢野沙織が始動させたプロジェクトである。
矢野は2003年のデビュー以来、20年間に渡り、主にBebopに主軸を置き国内外問わずジャズ言語でアルトサックスを演奏し続けた。
しかし矢野の音楽ルーツはもはや音以前に文学やアートにあった。
言葉とビートをベースにする音楽の代表を敢えてカテゴライズするならば、
それはヒップホップとも言えるだろう。
ローティーン時代の彼女は、スケートボード文化、グラフィティアート、
そういったストリートカルチャーの中にいた。
それでいてなぜジャズを探求し続けたのかと問いたい所だが、それは単純に、ジャズは彼女にとって「美しいと感じた言語」に
過ぎなかったのかも知れない。

書き溜めた詞やメロディ、アイディアを共有し強靭な仲間を見付けた彼女は、それを音楽にした。

「House of Jaxx」はプロジェクトである。
つまり変幻自在で未知なのだ。
その第一歩が本作品であり、
今後永久に表現の幅を
無限に広げることとなるのは明確である。
